Knicks reshape roster with two major deals, headlined by the “official” acquisition of five-time NBA All-Star Amar’e Stoudemire, who is introduced to the media a day earlier, after coming over in a sign-and-trade from Phoenix. Knicks send a protected future second-round draft selection to Phoenix in the deal and then pull off a second move, acquiring forward Anthony Randolph, swingman Kelenna Azubuike, forward/center Ronny Turiaf and a 2012 second round draft pick (later sent to Denver in Carmelo Anthony trade) from Golden State in exchange for forward David Lee.
