The National Father’s Day Council has selected Amar’e Stoudemire, Captain of the New York Knicks, as a 2011 “Father of the Year” Award recipient. The awards will be presented at the 70th Annual Father of the Year Awards in New York City. Mr. Stoudemire joins Jim Boeheim, Head Coach of Syracuse University Men’s Basketball Team, Geoffrey Canada, President and CEO of the Harlem Children’s Zone, Brendan Hoffman, President and CEO of Lord & Taylor and Randall Stephenson, AT&T Chairman and CEO as a fellow 2011 “Father of the Year.”

George Stephanopoulos, Anchor of ABC’s “Good Morning America,” will serve as Master of Ceremonies at the event. Mark Shriver, political activist and Senior Vice President of Save the Children’s U.S. Programs, will host the VIP press briefing immediately preceding the luncheon. With proceeds benefiting Save The Children’s U.S.
